ReflexologyNeuromuscular Stress Relief

Neuromuscular Therapy is a method of manual therapy which studies and treats the effects of stress and pain on the body and how it transitions from acute to chronic unceasing pain patterns using very specific soft tissue manipulation by following specific neurological and physiological laws. Whether you want to avoid, or have tried other mainstream methods of pain treatments that have not worked, such as medications, muscle relaxers, surgery, physical therapy, or even chiropractic care, you may want to schedule your massage appointment at Spa 504!

Deep Tissue Relaxation

Deep Tissue Massage is a clinical approach directed to treating specific problem areas in muscles and in the connective tissue called fascia.
Injuries, chronic pain, or habitual posture and movement patterns can cause a muscle to continuously contract, known as a spasm, and adhesions to form within and between muscle fibers and fascia causing them to stick together. These spasms and adhesions not only cause pain, but limit mobility and the circulation of blood and lymph needed to nourish, lubricate, and remove metabolic byproducts from the area. The stimulation from Deep Tissue Massage can also promote the growth of new collagen in an injured area. This type of massage is not intended for relaxation, and may involve some discomfort.

Hot Stone Therapy

Hot Stone Therapy involves the application of water-heated basalt stones of varying sizes to key points on the body, giving a deep massage and creating sensations of comfort and warmth. The heat from the stones relaxes the muscles allowing manipulation of a greater intensity than with regular massage. Hot Stone Therapy also improves circulation and calms the nervous system.

Aroma Therapy

The use of essential oils (extracted from herbs, flowers, resin, woods, and roots) in body and skin care treatments is known as aromatherapy. This therapy has been used as a healing technique for thousands of years by the Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans, essential oils aid in relaxation, improve circulation, and help the healing of wounds. Aromatherapy is included in massage sessions at Spa 504.

Medical Massage & Pain Management

Medical Massage is an outcome-based massage. Specific treatment protocols are targeted to the specific problem or problems the patient presents with a physician's diagnosis and is administered after a thorough assessment/evaluation by the medical massage therapist. Medical Massage helps individuals who suffer from an assortment of health conditions such as including repetitive motion injuries, Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, muscle spasms, neuromuscular conditions, and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

Sports

Sports massage is designed to enhance athletic performance and recovery. There are three contexts in which sports massage can be useful to an athlete: pre-event, post-event, and injury treatment. When an athlete sustains an injury, skillful massage therapy can often speed and improve the quality of healing. Make massage at Spa 504 part of your training program!

Shiatsu

Developed Japan , shiatsu is a finger-pressure technique utilizing traditional acupuncture points. Similar to acupressure, shiatsu concentrates on unblocking the flow of life energy and restoring balance in the meridians and organs in order to promote self-healing. The treatment brings about a sense of relaxation while stimulating blood and lymphatic flow. The benefits of this treatment may include pain relief and a strengthening of the body’s resistance to disease and disorder.

Reflexology

Based on an ancient Chinese therapy, reflexology involves manipulation of specific reflex areas in the foot, hands, and ears that correspond to other parts of the body. Sometimes referred to as zone therapy, this bodywork involves application of pressure to these reflex zones to stimulate body organs and relieve areas of congestion. This technique is used to reduce pain, increase relaxation, and stimulate circulation of blood and lymphatic fluids. It is especially useful in stress-related illness and emotional disorders. Reflexology makes a great addition to any massage therapy treatment!
